| The Old House |
![]() This is the old house where Admiral Yi lived. Admiral Yi got married when he was 21. His wife was the only child of Bang Jin, who was the governor of Boseong. His wife¡¯s house became the main house of Admiral Yi. The current building is a traditional Korean wood building. The main building is the only one that has kept its original appearance. The eldest grandson in the head family also has lived there but moved out during the sanctification project of the memorial shrine in 1969 in consideration of its dignity. The family tombs are behind the old house. The ancestral tablets, up to the fourth ancestors of the current eldest grandson and Admiral Yi are cherished here. The ancestral tablet of Admiral Yi is (ÜôôÃñýêÈ). A religious service for him is performed at dawn on Nov. 19 every year according to the lunar calendar. |
